Honestly, I don't see how it's tough at all. I'm no pro, but when I joined I was clueless enough to never use defensive lines and use the strat Tank Gen., had no clue about using order while attacking, I was basically completely a failure, yet I started off the game going 12-8. Why? Because more than 3/4 of this game is common sense. If you honestly can't figure out that tanks on offense and infantry on defense while attacking places that look strong, then I don't see how you could ever learn to play AW.

Because the only people who still play afterwind are vets or are good, and the newbies get killed easily by them.

I agree. There are a few key things missing from the tutorial though. For example, did you know that you can move troops by clicking on their icons in the recruitment window? I hope I just saved everyone a lot of frustration! I myself only discovered unit order recently though I still think the way it works is quite weird. I won't go into detail here. The main reason people find it hard is due to what Gardevoir said. Another I believe is that the tutorial assumes the player has previous knowledge of strategy games and their concepts. Sure, most of the players that come here have played these before though it never hurts to involve the less-experienced players more into how strategy games generally play. You may have noticed with a lot of commercial titles for instance (such as Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War: Soulstorm) that the tutorial mouseover says "if you haven't played a strategy game before, you should play through this first" or something along those lines. Considering how many people even here think COD is the apogee of developments in gaming, maybe we should educate them better about the basic concepts of strategy games like the need to balance income and spending of your money, types of unit, what factors affect them etcetera. What's with me and walls of text today...

you're funny, adding units is not fair at all , they can't get special treat just because they are new , they should be taught , but not get points for being new.

They are practically invincible. Read up on the HP system and you'll see why these units are almost invincible
