In this system, you can challenge enemy players to duel. The person who is challenge must play the duel within a time restriction or forfeit elo. The challenger get to customize the following.
The following options are locked. Victory condition : Capture enemy capital for 2 turns. Initial Countries : 1 Turn duration: 4 Minutes The person being challenged for the duel ALWAYS GET FIRST PICK I think this system will help clear up the problem of people avoiding duels .

I prefer this to what is actually implemented because I make him duel me. But there's a flaw in this system: you could challenge noobs all day long and farm them easy, either in game or by forfeit. I think this system would be exploited easily. Furthermore, I don't know why would the turn duration nor the initial countries should be locked. Sometimes I prefer playing 2 min 3k games. Other people could want to play 2 initial 5k eu+. I believe that the settings should be negotiated between both players beforehand. Or at least, the challenger should leave more than 1 option to choose from regarding the map. With this system you're giving way too much power to the challenger. Best system is an auto-match up one with a random picked map from a certain variety of them, which should be picked as competitive maps. That way your opponent won't know who's dueling against but neither will he be able to reject the duel.

Sounds dumb, because I could challenge clovis all day in a 3k duel and farm myself 300 elo in an hour. So no.

I don't think any system should be structured around forcing someone to play.

A false implication that some guy did something only he had a chance of doing and that makes it unfair to other players And a horrible, horrible idea... with so many flaws Get first elo... just dont log in till the rest of season with that account... or you telling me a guy that isnt even on, can lose elo and you gaining free one cuz you pressed a challenge button

Idea isn't bad, but it's impossible to do it the right way. It'll always be abused.

Only way to make a proper "Duel season" is to make a league, everyone R8+ can enlist, u HAVE to play twice each player, home and away (u chose the map/settings for home u choose for away) BUT it needs to be organized in such a way that people who dont play their games are dealt with appropriately. I would suggest making the games casual with 48 hours turns, you should have finished all ur games within 3 months, right? Current system is based on Elo, and Biggest elo flaws are 1) inactivity of high elo players (as their risk/reward profile becomes ridiculous) 2) farming bad players. Check it out it's a recurrent problem in chess for 40 years, u guys wont solve it in Atwar

I would be happy to organise an official league if someone could help me manage it - as a test. Maybe a league for clans and another for duels. Similar to sport setups.if its successful we can make it more prominent.
