ewe's suggestion to fix the Reputation System.

In easy words:

Written by clovis1122, 20.06.2015 at 20:27

The more you rep, the less your reps wort...
The lower your rank, the less your reps wort...

Written by clovis1122, 20.06.2015 at 20:27

The more allies you have, the less fame you earn...
The lower the avg.rank is, the less fame you earn...
The lower the SP earned, the less fame you earn...
The lower number of players, the less fame you earn...

In deep:

This is the solution I've research for replace the Reputation system. Adding a new "Fame system" in which players are ranked up by their fame. Basically when you click on rep someone, your rep wort certain fame points. The fame points are calculated by using different formulas, taking into account the rank and the number of players you had rep.

Additionally to this, you can also earn fame by just playing games.

Formulas I

Current formula suggested by International: [ Rank / √(N.rep) ]

4th rep:
Rank 2 would wort 1 fame.
Rank 5 would wort 2.5 fame.
Rank 8 would wort 4 fame.
Rank 13 would wort 6.5 fame.

36th rep:
Rank 3 would wort 0.5 fame.
Rank 6 would wort 1 fame.
Rank 8 would wort 1.3 fame.
Rank 12 would wort 2 fame.

100th rep:
Rank 2 would wort 0.2 rep.
Rank 3 would wort 0.3 rep.
Rank 9 would wort 0.9 rep.
Rank 15 would wort 1.5 rep.

Reps are meant to be updated right after you rep someone or rank-up.

Formulas II

Current Formula: [ (√Sp) * (N/2) * avg ] / 100(W^2).

Example 1: 2 players, avg rank is 10, one player won and earned 2,500 SP. Then, the winner(s) would earn 1 fame points.
Example 2: 20 players, avg rank was 7, 3 players won and the sum of their earned SP is 6,561 SP. Then, the winner(s) would earn 1.26 fame points.

How about a simple a player's rep is worth that player's rank divided by the square root of the number of reps given?

Like it. Mix both variant at the same time.

I'd like to make some statics in order to determine the average rep of a player based on his rank, but since most people wouldn't remember it, or be very inaccurate in their answer I find it best to wait till this system is implemented, then apply the tweaks according to the situation.

Ideally there should be a balance between High Ranks quality of reps and Low Rank number of players giving rep.

BUMP.

(I ain't letting this die, sorry).

Additionally to giving / receiving fame, you could also earn them by playing game. For example:

By losing, yo lose no fame points.
By surrendering, you lose 1% of the fame points you had.
By leaving, you lose 4% of the fame points you had.

*A formula to determine how much Fame points you win from a normal game (Not Duel or Clan War):

Variant:
A) SP earned.
B) Number of players who were in the game, the turn you joined.
C) Average Rank of the players involved.
D) Number of winners.

Current formula: [ (√Sp) * (N/2) * avg ] / 100(W^2)

I like this formula because it solves 3 potential abuses:

1) Players that wins by alliance will earn very few fame.
2) Two Rank 13 want to farm the system, in their game they would have strong avg.rank (13).
3) 20 low ranks make a game to have fun, but some of them also want to farm the system. In their game they would have the highest Nth of players (20).

1. Let's say there is a game, 2 players, avg rank is 10, one player won and earned 2,500 SP.

[ (√2,500) * (2/2) * 10 ] / 500 (1^2)
[ 50 * 10] / 500
500 / 500
1 fame points.

2. And now another game, 20 players, avg rank was 7, 3 players won and the sum of their earned SP is 6,561 SP.

[ (√6,561) * (20/2) * 7] / 500 (3^2)
[ 81 * 70] / 4,500
5670 / 4,500
1.26 fame points for each player.

This will affect leavers, and added to the current proposal to Fame system, we would also have a mechanism to determine how trustworthy is a player. So let's say you find a player with very low Fame points playing WW1, then you already know he is probably a leaver.

Players with high fame points would also be trustworthy

For all those idiots who say rep is wortheless, a lot of people from the old guard only have their reps from playing very good. So for the hipsters here get a life and go cry about your no skilled reps and leave us alone since those reps stand for skill.

It's true, nowadays the #rep is what distinguish a rank 10 farmer from a respectable one. It's a nice rule of thumb used by scenario players to know if someone's a noob.

not true, scenario players look at 3 things:

1.Rank (ofc there are exceptions)
2.What games does he play (autokick if RP or even a member of fappy youth)
3.How many games did he leave (in %)

Also i doubt it distinguishes good players from the others, most of the narbs will rep farm (examples such as adolf, njab, kraven etc), they all have 400+ reps even though being on AW only about a year and most of the community hates them.

That pointing njab as a noob...

Yes it's easy to rep farm. But that's what makes them useless, and because they are useless is that few people takes the rep farm serious. Apart of Death you haven't see anyone trying hard for it, have you?

Rep is used in scenarios for my understanding.

Why does it need to change? Who cares about the number of rep a player has? It doesn't really mean anything so why complicate it?

I wonder if anyone here will say they judge a player based on their number of reps? I know since I have joined I have hardly ever even thought about reputation, much less looked at it. And have had no trouble joining any games, even the two times I tried RP and the one Scenario I played.

Overall I think rep is useless like others here have said, I like Clovis's idea but maybe there is a simpler solution, or just get rid of reputation points all together? Because isnt the point of a reputation to have people know your name and know you are a respectable player....not farming with "rep for rep" or other such nonsense.

Some players just farm rep on roleplay maps, *everyone rep me*, so some players get alot of rep without deserving it. Thing is you cannot solve it and you should just know what players farm rep, it is quite obvious really.
