Hey everyone! So, I was thinking about how sometimes you can have stuff happen in games which just couldn't happen in real life: a rush here, a sweep there, etc. Now, I love AtWar as it stands, and it's my favourite game after Chess, but imagine if we lengthened combat by, when you have large armies battling it out, having the fight last multiple turns? It would really add yet another dimension of reality to AtWar, making it possible to have scenarios where a tiny group is holding out, waiting for another stack to reinforce... You could have sieges, rules on how many reinforcements you can get during them, great mechanics on Defense lines, etc. It opens up the game to a much longer, strategic type of thought. Tell me what you guys think! I love this game, and I just thought this could be a way to make it even more fun.

Not bad I guess, but I wouldn't want that in every game. Maybe keep it as it's own mode. All the oldfags will hate this idea, however. They don't like change.

are you saying this based off the fact that the community disliked your "coalition capital" idea?

It's funny cause precisely, almost every high rank is complaining about the fact that the game doesn't change, has no evolution

Ha, no. I still Stand by them ideas as it's not even a RP element(s). It adds way more customization, team play, competitive style and even replay ability. Most of the ideas that I saw ages ago, even years ago always got shut down with "It's RP" or "Not going to happen because this is aiming to RP players"

And it's not. It won't move much if it has only two coders

honestly we can accept all changes, under two conditions 1. It doesn't affect clovis's ability to do more important things 2. we get a button to disable it

There are really two options 1. It's a terrible idea 2. It's a good idea presented so poorly it becomes shit. Instead of crying about us calling it rp, why don't you instead have a look at those ideas that got implemented. Or at least got debated about. What did they have? Why weren't they called rp? Have a look at some posts that we debated about instead of outright rejecting. Instead of spending your time flaming others who shoot down your ideas, why not spend that time to have a look at other ideas and finding out why they're accepted. Perhaps that would be a better use of your time, rather than coming here to post on every ideas and suggestions thread on why the oldfags don't accept change.

Alright, so this got attention! Am glad. Yeah, it would have to have a button for disabling it. I personally don't do programming, but I outlined this idea to a friend, and he thought he could get it done in a month at back burner speed. No idea if he's right, but just some data for the discussion. P.S. Let's stick off the useless jostling about minor arguments. It doesn't really matter what political reasons existed for old suggestions not getting implemented. Let's focus on the future!

If you want your changes to be put into affect, you're gonna need to learn C#/CSS.etc. and spend time helping the atwar devs for it to work. They simply don't have the time to implement peoples' ideas unfortunately, and can't just put in stuff that only a few people want

Alright, then, mate I will make it my pet project. Though, to the point, my idea was something that was not too hard to implement that the devs might like to think about.
